General impression of focus of well-being for students

Very inclusive services for all. Ample resources available online for self-help. Strong focus on wellness and support. Strong emphasis on support for those in recovery. DU appears very invested in wellness and mental health support for all.

From DU Staff, “We are passionate about teaching and learning,  with student counselors and many weekly groups to choose from. These groups are usually year long with open enrollment, however we do release the schedules and if any new groups are added in our quarterly brochure. Our office is open to recommendations if the students are seeking a specific type of group as well.”

When will students get referred out and to whom?

After 21 counseling sessions, the student will be charged per visit. University of Denver counselors assist with referral if needed.

Specific mental health focuses - recovery services, eating disorder, sobriety, etc.

Students may request speaking events by the Counseling Center with topics including Body Image and Eating Disorders, Substance Use Concerns, and many more topics.

Collegiate Recovery Program available for those in recovery: sober events, support meetings, peer ambassadors, and educational seminars.

Specific recovery housing available. On-campus alcohol and other drugs Counselor, Recovery wellness planning, recovery coaching, 24/7 access to the Center for Collegiate Recovery.
